Megans Mission Minutes November 27, 2012 Next stop, Costa Rica!!
She
wrote this list the week of Thanksgiving. She will be flying to Costa Rica on
Monday with her district. (There are six of them total. Her letter is coming
via “snail – mail”. But we got a snip-it of an email and lots of photos)
What I’m grateful for in the MTC:
An unlimited supply of chocolate milk
Room checks – keeps us clean allowing the spirit to dwell
Letters from home and care packages
Laundry room so close and so FREE! (Funny story: Today we
went to go pick our clothes up out of the drier. One of my comps couldn’t find
her clothes, someone’s clothes were in her machine. She started to worry; we
wrote a note, we turned and asked an Elder nearby, “are these yours?” “Yes…”
Long story short, he had combined his clothes with hers. It was pretty funny to
watch the poor lad trying to separate their unmentionables.
Smiles
Whistling and singing in the shower with complete strangers.
Bedtime. I’ve never been so grateful for it before.
Volleyball. I really love playing volleyball with my
district. They are so much fun!!
My Book of Mormon. Goodness it’s delicious. I’m totally
devouring it and I’m grateful for any Seminary, Institute, Sunday School class,
personal study etc. and all of the personal revelation I’ve received. Such a
blessing in my life. I am currently
spending roughly 11 hours a day in a classroom learning Spanish. If I can make
it through this, I can make it through anything. Also, the spirit here is super
strong! In the words of Nacho Libre, “It’s the best!!”
The Holy Ghost. What a powerful gift! I’m so grateful for
it.
Friends!! I’ve made so many in here.
Laughter, my medicine… the cure for anything and everything!
The Priesthood. Need I say more?
My photo album. I love photos of my family. I underestimated
their importance and I went to laminate the photos of my bros on their
shirtless, four-wheeling, night-ride. I’m so… soo grateful for my brothers!
Companionship prayers (En Espanol)
Hymns!! I found one that is only is the Spanish Hymn Book!
It’s so cool and all about missionary work. (I just bought a laminated children’s
song book and I have been singing primary songs all day! I love primary!
Somebody told me that in Costa Rica, I will love all the kiddos there and they’ll
love to sing with me!! Yay!)
Sunshine
Devotionals
The couches in the TRC and the Temple because they are the
only 2 places I get to sit on a couch.
Everyone’s prayers, love and support on my behalf.
Thank YOU!!
Thanksgiving Day; A piece of temple square. The BEST hand
slap game ever to pass the time. Service project. Pumpkin Pie (it was nasty. I missed grandmas!) Watched 17 Miracles!
Decorated a tree. Charity. (It was a great break from the norm.) JEFFREY R
HOLLAND!!! But more to come about thanksgiving later. Expect a beautiful letter
or two in the mail. I'm so sorry I really don't have time.
See you later! :( The next time I write to you will be in
another country! (At least email you.)
Love to All!!
