November 13, 2012

Hello, hello, hello!!!

Dad I love love love! The comic strip! You are such an awesome artist! I definitely am going to try and send you one. Oh how funny! Freaking Charlie!

Mom you reading your BOM in a week sounds absolutely wonderful! I am so so so so so so so happy for you!!! I can't even imagine how spiritually strong you are right now! I picture every word you read a layer of armor against all of the negativity.

Brothers guess what tune I've had stuck in my head all week. One of the Elders had to help me FINALLY figure it out! I think it's the Halo Reach Theme song??? Wouldn't ya know it. Of course! Of all the things to have subconsciously pop in my head. I think it's a sign. I miss each of you. I miss you Braydee. I miss you Ry. I miss you Conn!

Chad, happy Veteran’s Day yesterday. I hope you got all the free food that your diet allows :) Sweet score on the Breaking Dawn tickets! I hope it goes well!!! I keep you in my prayers Chad. Also, thank you for serving our country. You are a STUD!

Bray, I came across something in the Bible I never noticed before! Turn to pg. 856. Solomon's Song. I only read a few verses but they reminded me of your beautiful poems. How lucky your future spouse will be because she will be showered with beautiful words. Oh how I love you dear brother! Great job on getting the job at UPS! Your letter about your beard made me laugh! no more Serj Terkin for you! I didn't even know you had a moustache? Man that makes me laugh!) Anyway, you have a talent my brother! One I admire entirely!!!!!

Thanks for the care package! Elder Hyde and I both got a package of Krispy Kreme's on the same day!! I'm really banking on the fact that Costa Ricaians have a skinny diet. Otherwise I'll have to cry. ha-ha. The MTC food just beefs you up man! And all we do is sit in a class and eat. ha-ha I'm not complaining at all, I laugh as I write this. I LOVE IT HERE! Seriously, every single person on the earth needs to experience the magic of the MTC.

Smile! Smile. I'll write that word again so you know how important I feel it is. I feel really impressed to share with each of you reading this to smile. I saw a picture of Jesus Christ smiling the other day. An awesome day. Do you think he had rough days? You'd better believe it. What did he do? He smiled! Read...Dang where is it? 3Nephi...shoot. I'll physically write a letter about how wonderful a smile is. Smile!

My patriarchal blessing is one of the most prized gift from my Heavenly Father ever! I also love reading about my mission service in my blessing. So so sososososososos comforting! . Ry, I wish I could hear you read yours to me. Con, I hope you can feel my excitement for you as well.

Elder Parry. Oh how I really like him! He has the entire Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone movie memorized!!! All of it! He has been quoting it for us and we just gather around, when we have spare moments (usually before a devo or something, don't worry we don't slack off too badly.) and listen like children around a campfire. When he forgets a part, we all help him. He does all the accents and motions, it is fantastic! Trust me, I miss movies. So to have a piece of it makes me happy.

Ever heard of “Knifing or Forking”? Ha! The Elders got warned about it and I thought it was funny enough to write.  Apparently they think it’s hilarious to sneak a knife, fork or spoon from the cafeteria and try to slip them into someone else’s pockets. Does it even make sense? Don’t worry if not.. moral of the story? The Elders always know how to have such a fun time. Right now my Elders are making a  "Temple Collage". They gather as many photos of temples as they can from around the MTC. (I'll have to send a photo next week, remind me.) I think what they like the most is going on raids, two by two. It's so funny they sneak all over the building trying to sneak out temple photos. The rest of the elders decorate the collage and try to make everything line up just so. Whoda thunk Elders could be so creative! Anywho, it has turned into something truly wonderful!! It's so awesome! You walk in the room and are taken back by the power of it. *imagine an entire wall full of nothing but temples!* :) They take me away! Temples rock.

We had a meeting about influential women in our lives and there wasn’t a dry eye. I said I was thankful for Mary Magdeline because she heard the Saviors voice and knew him. And my mommy and grandmas… of course. I’m so grateful for all the sacrifices that every great woman in my life has made so I can be where I am today.

The Spanish is coming along! I am able to learn quickly and with the help of Elder Hyde, a genius, I'm grasping the grammar!! yay! Such a comfort! They only problem is remembering it all. Don't get me wrong, I still feel like I know nothing, but it is improving.

Thanks for the prayers. I REALLY can feel them! I'm really getting along with my companions! We laugh all the time together! And I feel the prayers y’all say on my behalf like a comforting hug. Thank you family!

I wish to share with you my testimony of this great and marvelous gospel.
First of all, like the prophet Lehi, I have tasted of its goodness and it is so delicious! I too desire for every person I know to taste the fruit! I love the Book of Mormon. I really love it! I am learning so much! I have a testimony of revelation-modern day revelation. I know that when I read the Book of Mormon, I can hear my Heavenly Father whispering to me gentle impressions in my mind. I have a testimony of prayer. I know it is a two-way communication with my maker. He hears me. He desires to know how I am. He will grant me anything, as long as I ask. I cry every time I re-hear President Monson's announcement about the age change for missionaries? Why?! Because. I am hearing modern day revelation as if I'm hearing it from the Lord himself. I remember the strong spirit I felt in the MTC when that announcement was made. I have a testimony of the blessing of missionary work. I hope you all realize what is really going on; the Lord is hastening His work. And as I've been told (in the MTC) by Elder Bednar, an apostle, the Lord will hasten my understanding. What a blessing! I love this gospel more than words can adequately express.

I love each of you so much! Thank you for your example in my life. Be strong and of good courage. Keep the faith. The blessings WILL come!!! I know it!

Don't forget the Lord loves each of you uniquely! I love you!

Nos Vamos!
-Hermana Megan Workman (my nickname is Trabajarles. (Tra- bay- har-lay) Porque? Because trabaja= to work in Spanish and Charles because my name rhymes with it?? No clue?? But I love it.)
