I just realized EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY

March 10, 2014
Sorry it´s been 14 days.....I LOVE U
This is probablly going to be the lamest letter ever. Sorry sometimes some letters are less jazzy than others.
So. He´s the sitch about San Carlos. It´s a ward. Divided into 3 groups. One group meats in Florencia (closer to Fortuna) about an hour away. The other in Pital- Again about an hour away. And then of course the middle, one where the huge chapel is. (and me) The other 2 just meet in the elder´s house. For a very long time we´ve had a hard time getting our attendance above 60 people. Which really is nuts because our chapel is bigger than any church I’ve seen in the states. Stake Centers included. So it´s kind of sad. The good news is that for the first time in all my time here, we finally got the attendance to 100! MIRACLE!
Sunday we left our house at 6:30am to go and get our investigators up and ready. I´m not doing it justice when I saw it was CraCra. It was a lot of work. Wake up sleepy head! Pray and shower! Have you eaten!? Can I brush your hair? You ready yet? We´ll be back in 5 minutes. yadda yadda yadda. I noticed I was walking around like Laman. Just all hot and sweaty and stressed and grumbly. Then when I realized it´s so much better to be a Nephi, I changed my attitude. And I just felt better. We really can choose our attitude. The other great news is that for the first time in my mission we had 14 investigators in church. Miracle. Super great.
The other sisters here helped to baptized the woman, M, in the wheelchair that stopped us a while back to ask us about church. It was a unique baptism. Getting her dressed, to and from her chair, in and out of the water, all a unique experience that really made me ever so grateful for the miracle of the resurrection. That she and all of God´s most precious, will one day truly be made perfect. After her baptism, R

This was in the suitcase!

PDAY with the Butterfields, Sonia and Mariano

the relief Society president invited us mishes and M over for lunch. M can´t do anything herself. (11 years ago she was shot and paralyzed.) So I volunteered to help feed her. As I did so, I meditated on the fact that I am, like my mother, so grateful for my hands and work so perfectly. And I´m grateful I could serve her.

Going to the waterfall last week was so celestial. As I sat there pondering, I was reminded that God is truly the Creator and loves us so much to give us a world so beautiful.
I got to meet my new next door neighbors from Riverton! The Butterfields are awesome and speak such good Spanish! They were always laughing and I loved playing Uno with them and spending my Pday with them! They´re amazing. Mom, thank you for sending me all that stuff! It was SO cute and perfect. And yes I´m going Reese’s Peanut Butter cups crazy.  I even got a zit to remind me how much you love me. Seriously though mom, I left the second I opened it all and said a prayer of gratitude for YOU. hahaha I knew you wouldn´t be able to resist opening that bad boy. (She sent home a suitcase full of her stuff) Yeah sent my journals and tons of letters home. Don´t read the journals. I´ll be there soon and read them to you. (So grateful for Jen and John travelling both ways with extra luggage for our missionary!!)
The thing for I* was PERFECT. You even threw in a Princess and The Frog sticker. I know it was for me, but that´s her fav princess so I threw it in. SHE LOVED IT ALL SO MUCH! I´ll try and throw in a photo. I always give her HUGE hugs. At church I had Jen hug her to pieces too so that you can hug Jen and virtually hug Iris. (I* is the 5-year-old little girl in her photos that has leukemia. Her medical treatment is extremely slow there. She will go months waiting for test results… then months to schedule an appointment that is months in the future)
Hermana Stroud thanks you! Sonia thanks you! We all thank you!! I LOVE all the little papers with quotes on them. I LOVE QUOTES! You know me so well! OH mother. YOU are the BEST!  My favorite thing was probably all the little quotes on paper. The candy in the cutely wrapped everything for every Holiday! I LOVE that photo of the frog saying: “I just realized everything is gonna be okay.” I laugh every time I see it. (Brayden has it hanging up by his desk)
I like the photo mom sent me of the family and the Butterfields kids rocking out to guitar hero. It took me a while to realize that the photo was taken in my room. NUTS! I couldn’t believe the photo of the temple photos… Seriously!! 47 Days? WOW! So, I guess now, it’s more like 40?? And Brayden has 54? WOW! I’m not sure how I feel. Sometimes I am way ready to come home but then I want to stay here forever! I miss you but, this is what I know! IT’s my life! Pura Vida~
Any who. I love you, MOM! I LOVE YOU DAD! Thanks for everything!
I know the church is true and I’m happy to be here.
I´ll see you soon!
Love,
Megan, Hermana Workman

Oh and by the way: I got a call today saying to pack my bag I’m headed to Nicaragua. They´ll put me up in a hotel?!! Let´s see if it actually happens this time. haha
