Finally! Proof that Megan was on that little blue plane I watched moved South on the computer screen and land in Costa Rica! She made it! She's happy! Oh... It does a momma's heart good to know!! As usual, I edit her letters to try to arrange her scattered thoughts. However, this one took FOREVER! Apparently, keyboards are different in all area's of the world! She isn't used to the keyboard and there were a lot of typos and funny symbols. It was a treat for us to read... thought we'd make it easier for you! Much love! XOXO Terry and Diane  **also, Corrine, I think you guessed right, again. Do you have a line on that date for the second coming?

Date: 10 Dec 2012 <yick really<- typing on a Costa Rican keyboard is making me laugh!

Onward Christian Soldiers!

Greeting to the most beautiful family on earth and to the most blessed country!
Oh thank heavens for yawl’s email. First of all dad- I think of you, very specifically, almost every day here because I’m surrounded by...dirt. And I know you couldn’t handle it. Mom and I could, hence why I’m here. He he! Seriously though I’m so scared to eat most of the food and touch a lot of things, thank heavens for the hand sanitizer I brought.

Bienvinetos a Nicoya!!! That is my first area. But first let me tell you how I got here. Airplane. babahjaha so funny. It felt so good to get out of the MTC to be on streets! To drive by 123rd on the freeway! To see Salt Lake! The Temple! awwww amazing! Goodbye snowy mountains! I sat next to people from Germany on the plane and I kept thinking, okay mish opportunity bring it on! What will I say? No se. But the lord knows! Just open your mouth. Anyway, that was fun. Dallas. I spoke to y’all. Also fun. It’s also where I ate my last good meal. A nasty hamburger. But I’d gladly take that any day again. ha-ha We got to Costa Rica at about 7:00 pm CR time 8:00 p.m. your time I think. No daylight savings. We got to immigrations and that was possibly the funniest thing ever. My companion got stuck and they wouldn’t let her into the country. We called president but they wouldn’t let him in. So we all tried to use the little Spanish we knew. They kept telling us we couldn’t be with her but, she’s our companion and we couldn’t leave her! Anyway long, funny, exhausting story later -we left at about...11:00 p.m. then to the temple! San Jose, Costa Rica! Beautiful! We went to McDonalds-Yuck. I’m sorry if I come off negative. In hindsight I miss McDonalds more than anything! Then to the mission office -we had our interviews with the President. Whew it was exhausting!!!!!!! They fed us sandwiches...I did not eat because it was so late! Then at about 1 am we went to some sister missionaries’ house. There were 14 of us in a “two-bedroom" casa. So at about 3:30 am I was allowed to go to bed. The next day, Wednesday, was the changes meeting. Scary! I got a new companion. Hermana Aldana from Mexico, she is the nicest ever. I am so grateful for her! They shipped me off to the Guanacaste. (It’s an area west in the mission, it´s by the pacific coast. A little peninsula near Montezuma… I hope that’s not a sign!) San José weather is beautiful. Breezy. Perfect. Nicoya! I read about your snow and I got a tear. hahaha BE SO GRATEFUL FOR AC AND THE COLD I TELL YA! It is so hot here. My clothes are constantly wet. I don´t sweat like I did in Utah but, man, I feel like I’m constantly right out of the shower. I feel like I’m in Jurassic Park!! Seriously, it’s everywhere! Me gusta!

Every day we eat lunch at this one lady’s house. It’s difficult for me. The utensils, plates and food aren’t as clean as I’m used to. The only thing that cleans the dishes is the water. No soap. Plus I just can’t eat the meat here yet. Especially the chicken because I know it comes straight from the pet next door. I’ve seen too many chickens around here, so I know it’s fresh. And I just...can’t. So I’ve been starving that is until Saturday. I went to the store! Did I just spend six dollars for a box of Trix? Yes. Yes I did. And it was SO worth it. Also there was no Wal-Mart trip but I did find peanut butter. I way over-payed, but I’ll never go hungry again!

Surprise, surpise! I dont´know Spanish at all. None! It’s so annoying. I held it together until yesterday at church. Not being able to communicate sucks. But, I know that so slowly it’s coming. My comp is great and she only speaks to me in Spanish unless I’m really dying. This experience is teaching me more about charity. Read in Moroni ch 7 (the scripture we had on our trailer fridge) it suffereth long, thinketh no evil. That means not always wanting to run away and cry- not being selfish- but being grateful to be where I am and it endureth all things. I’m praying with all the energy of my heart for charity. I know my prayers are being answered. God hears my prayers and loves me. Just know that I really miss all of you!

Brothers, next time you’re bored and go to play Xbox, just know that the kids here go outside, draw a circle with a rock and play marbles in the dirt. Be grateful!! I met an awesome boy named David, pronounced duh veed, who is a future missionary. He’s thirteen, a member and always wears a white shirt, tie, and black pants. Why? Because one day he wants to be a missionary! What an empowering little man. He’s so sweet and reminds me of Connor because he would do anything just to be with his friends. What a stud! I really wish I could understand him. He was on "splits" with us. The people here are very receptive and very kind. We were teaching this one family and before we left the woman went into another room and came back with a Christmas present, a mug, for me. She didn’t even know me! I couldn´t really even talk to her. But I know, at least I hope she knew my spirit, knew that my intentions were good and knew that I came as a representative of the Lord. I’m just super grateful! And Saturday I had my first baptism. Cha!

Oh Friday there was a festival of lights. Not the Jewish thing but a parade of Christmas with lights, minimal lights. I hope you realize how spoiled we are in the US. I mean seriously spoiled. Anyway it was so awesome! Drums, marching bands, dancing, LOUD! So awesome! I felt it in my bones! I loved it! Love the music! They played all these Christmas songs, English ones, that people here don´t know the words to, but I did. What a blessing! And then randomly they played Ozzy Osborn’s Crazy Train. My comp had never heard of Ozzy. How is that even possible? Oh and my comp likes to get up at 4:30 am - in the morning and go to the gym. She’s so patient with me so I go because she is so kind and would do anything for me - like waiting until 6:30 to go like a human being. Today we were in the gym and one of my most favorite Eminem songs came on. tsk tsk. I gotta stay focused! I held my ensign magazine a little closer to my eyes to focus.

A bird pooped on my head. Gross, but great comic relief.               *Photo* *Photo* Mom, I thought of us stalking the FB photos. Check out my first shower! Yeah. This is my life now haha at least it’s not showering in buckets. By the way the water is clean! And safe to drink. It’s white though because of the mineral count. Weird!  My comp and I at my first baptism.

I am so sore. I think it’s my shoes, or my backpack. I bought a new backpack today, seven bucks, I’ll take it. We’ll see if that works. I have many insect bites despite the constant application of repellant. esta es la mision! haha endure, endure, endure. endure it well? Eternal life. Okay!

I’m grateful to be here. I’ve never relied so heavily on my heavenly father. I sincerely need him every hour. I’m so grateful for the things I have that bring me comfort, sincerely: hymns, scriptures and prayer. I am so grateful for this gospel because it teaches me how to find this comfort and how to live so that I can be happy. Do not ever ever ever give up. Something that keeps me going is Nephi, Ammaron, Ammon, Mormon, Ether and Abinadi. They knew they were fighting a losing battle. Why then did they continue? What’s the point? It’s because they saw my time – OUR TIME. They saw my brothers and knew that there was hope. They knew if anyone could do it, it would be us. Put on that entire armor and protect yourself like none other. We’re going into Babylon to gather Israel. I do not want to let them down. They suffered far greater than I ever will so that I could proclaim this glad message. With every fiber of my being I know that Christ lives. I know that this is the true restored gospel of Jesus Christ. My lips will never cease to proclaim the message of eternal families, of repentance and of our Saviors love for each of his children. I am so grateful for all the scarifies on my behalf and all of the prayers. Thank you every single one of you reading these words.

I love you family! So much that it hurts! Keep the letters coming, they help! You are all so powerful. Mom thanks for telling me about where Elder C’s sister is going. I was dying to find out! Connor, I’m happy you had that experience. It’s making you a better future missionary. Also I’ve decided you are not allowed to date. Our other siblings are gaga, and I don´t want you sucked into their mind voodoo. Mom and dad told you that girls have cooties right? That’s why they shipped me all the way out here ha-ha. Brothers, continue to laugh. Watch all the Disney you can! I’m jealous! Listen to conference talks. Stay strong. Do the things that will make you stronger. Pray. Read the scriptures. Listen to good music. Watch good TV shows and games. Speak only kind and uplifting words. Beg for the Holy Ghost each day and I promise you´ll continue to have good days. Beg for the spirit to be with you before you study and close with a prayer. Thank your Heavenly Father for the inspiration and guidance you receive while studying. Study with someone else in mind and I promise your study observance will increase. Never stop trying. You are reading the words of mighty prophets? What did the Book of Mormon cost? The best blood of the 19th century (D&C 135) and I would add the best blood of all time. Nephi wrote and perished so that YOU could read his words. I’m so happy testimonies are growing! I’m happy I’m a good example. I really did need to hear that, thank you! Sister Dalton said in a conference a few years ago, your Heavenly Father is only a prayer away and the Holy Ghost is always within whispering distance. Me gusta!
Audios Utah!

I love you all!! Hugs and kisses! Muah! Stay Golden! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

What a great day!! We got to talk to Megan for over an hour on the phone. We were cut off by the flight leaving DFW and heading to Costa Rica!! She is on the plane right now!! WOW!!  We laughed, cried, talked and enjoyed the moments thoroughly! She mentioned so many of you individually and wanted us to relay her love and gratitude. She shared some of her journal quotes and other thoughts I grabbed out of her last letter from the MTC. We feel so very blessed to have a missionary in the field right now and blessed at this time of year (and always) for our wonderful family and friends all all of your support. Please enjoy! Take a moment to enjoy this time of year and the reason we celebrate it~ Love, Terry and Diane & Family.
I’ve left the MTC!!! This is what I’ve written about it in my journal:  If God lives in the temples, He vacations at the MTC”. It’s the BEST!!  Here are some of my journal memories: A great game of UNO: One Elder got like 3 lbs of homemade jerky. We all gathered around the table and when I pulled out the mini UNO cards, we all couldn’t stop laughing. It was crazy cuz the Jerky was really tough to eat so we all just kept on chewing – like chew. I don’t know if I’m adequately expressing how funny it really was. (felt like I was a bit closer to my brothers) Another? Well, an Elder in Ash’s Zone got a box from Amazon. No return address… Guess what was in it? 3000 shiny, bouncy balls! Let me explain here… we get pretty low on entertainment. Well, yeah! Can you just imagine how great 3000 shiny, bouncy balls are? The elder took them all and dropped them down the stairs. It was hilarious.  They gave each of us here these great exercise elastics. My district used them to see how far they can fling their shoes. My comps and I tried to pull a prank on some Elders. We stapled some pages in their dictionary (which is their life blood) together. We thought we were so devious. When they found it… they just stared at it… blankly staring. Finally he said “Que es esto?” (What is this?) We couldn’t stop laughing because our joke was so lame. The Elder said: “We’ve taught them well.” Oh… there are so many, many more funny and fun stories. I hope I didn’t give anyone any ideas or offended anyone. The real beauty here is the spirit. I love the devotionals, they always leave me feeling spiritually exhausted. You know when Lehi had a vision and right after had to go back to his tent and take a nap? Or when Moroni met with Joseph Smith and He was so exhausted he passed out? Sometimes I really feel like that! The spirit is so strong here. Let me repeat that, it is so strong here!! I love it here. I’ve gotten into a comfortable routine. But, we are NOT meant to remain stagnant. Heavenly Father always wants us to progress. (Jane Eyre moment… We are not to be caged as a bird) Point? We must always be improving – which means we must always be challenged. Challenges are for our good. Be grateful for them and that you are experiencing this life at the time you are. Stay worthy to be an instrument in the Lord’s hands. All we have to do is open our mouth (action) and believe (faith) and all things work out!
You know what else is great about the MTC? Hearing all the different languages. Nowhere else in the whole world (Maybe?? Un..yeah??) can you hear so many people in one place learning thousands of different languages: Tagolic, Tongan, Korean, Protégées, Russian, Croatian, Spanish, French, German etc. I love walking around and hearing different languages. I love that all the conversations are gospel related. Nowhere else in the world I tell you!! The MTC is a special place. It’s been an amazing journey!
Well, I’m about to get on a plane again and become Del (Quote from Planes, trains and Autos) "Neal: Eh, look, I don't want to be rude, but I'm not much of a conversationalist, and I really want to finish this article, a friend of mine wrote it, so... Del: Don't let me stand in your way, please don't let me stand in your way. The last thing I want to be remembered as is an annoying blabbermouth... You know, nothing grinds my gears worse than some chowderhead that doesn't know when to keep his big trap shut... If you catch me running off with my mouth, just give me a poke on the chubbs..."  Ha ha… Thanks for the quote Bray! It’s so what I needed for the flight. The flight from SLC to Dallas Fort Worth was great. I sat by a guy from Southern Germany. I was reading the Book of Mormon (en Espanol) and he kept looking at me… I’m sure wondering what I was reading and why. So, I did it! I talked to him about the Book of Mormon. He has been living in Salt Lake City for a year. I asked him if anyone had ever talked to him about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He said: “no”. He didn’t want to discuss it much but, I gave him a “Pass-a-long” card. It was awesome!
I’m so blessed to have been born of goodly parent in this gospel, in the covenant. I’ve been blessed to see the Lord’s hand in my life. I’m blessed to have a testimony of my Saviors love for me. Me!! Hermana Megan Workman. I know that he knows me personally. I know he is entrusting me with a marvelous work and a wonder. What a blessing. Thank you all for your support. For all of your sacrifices. I work hard every day so that I don’t let you or my Heavenly Father down. This work is so joyous. I’m happy to be a part of it. I’m happy that my parents taught me how to have a positive attitude. I’ll quote my mom: “You can eat an entire elephant, just take it one bite at a time.” I’ve shared that quote at least three times a week every week. I even recited it over and over to myself. Thank you for showing me the importance of a laugh, the importance of prayer and relying on the Lord. Thank you for teaching me how to work hard. Thank you for all the prayers in my behalf. I know this church is true. I love it! Te ama ustedes mucho! Yo se que el Evangelio es verdadero. Me agradacides por lo porque yo recibir todas bendiciones. Con Cristo,  puedo hacer anything! En el nombre de Jesucristo, Amen!
Stay Gold!  Love, Hermana Megan Workman

They nailed her!! That's my baby!

Megans Mission Minutes      November 27, 2012    Next stop, Costa Rica!!

She wrote this list the week of Thanksgiving. She will be flying to Costa Rica on Monday with her district. (There are six of them total. Her letter is coming via “snail – mail”. But we got a snip-it of an email and lots of photos)

What I’m grateful for in the MTC:

An unlimited supply of chocolate milk
Room checks – keeps us clean allowing the spirit to dwell
Letters from home and care packages
Laundry room so close and so FREE! (Funny story: Today we went to go pick our clothes up out of the drier. One of my comps couldn’t find her clothes, someone’s clothes were in her machine. She started to worry; we wrote a note, we turned and asked an Elder nearby, “are these yours?” “Yes…” Long story short, he had combined his clothes with hers. It was pretty funny to watch the poor lad trying to separate their unmentionables.
Smiles
Whistling and singing in the shower with complete strangers.
Bedtime. I’ve never been so grateful for it before.
Volleyball. I really love playing volleyball with my district. They are so much fun!!
My Book of Mormon. Goodness it’s delicious. I’m totally devouring it and I’m grateful for any Seminary, Institute, Sunday School class, personal study etc. and all of the personal revelation I’ve received. Such a blessing in my life.   I am currently spending roughly 11 hours a day in a classroom learning Spanish. If I can make it through this, I can make it through anything. Also, the spirit here is super strong! In the words of Nacho Libre, “It’s the best!!”
The Holy Ghost. What a powerful gift! I’m so grateful for it.
Friends!! I’ve made so many in here.
Laughter, my medicine… the cure for anything and everything!
The Priesthood. Need I say more?
My photo album. I love photos of my family. I underestimated their importance and I went to laminate the photos of my bros on their shirtless, four-wheeling, night-ride. I’m so… soo grateful for my brothers!
Companionship prayers (En Espanol)
Hymns!! I found one that is only is the Spanish Hymn Book! It’s so cool and all about missionary work. (I just bought a laminated children’s song book and I have been singing primary songs all day! I love primary! Somebody told me that in Costa Rica, I will love all the kiddos there and they’ll love to sing with me!! Yay!)
Sunshine
Devotionals
The couches in the TRC and the Temple because they are the only 2 places I get to sit on a couch.
Everyone’s prayers, love and support on my behalf.
Thank YOU!!

Thanksgiving Day; A piece of temple square. The BEST hand slap game ever to pass the time. Service project. Pumpkin Pie (it was nasty. I missed grandmas!) Watched 17 Miracles! Decorated a tree. Charity. (It was a great break from the norm.) JEFFREY R HOLLAND!!! But more to come about thanksgiving later. Expect a beautiful letter or two in the mail. I'm so sorry I really don't have time.
See you later! :( The next time I write to you will be in another country! (At least email you.)
Love to All!!

Hi family!!

Thoughts from home:

1. When I was doing laundry last week, writing letters, we were sitting by the change machine. And we (comps and i) kept hearing change ccoming out like we were in Vegas. I look over and there's an elder getting tons of quarters. I said, "winner!" and he's like "Yeah, I'm all out of money but I need to do laundry..." "it's free..."(I said) and he then looked down at the floor. He had just got $20.00 worth of quarters. hahahhaha as he was walking away he said, "take trials with a smile." and I guess I needed to hear that lesson. All week my comps and I have been laughing at that. we later saw him at the vending machine using the quarters. funny eh?

2. Please tell Brother Sutton that Elder Bradley D. Foster of the quarm of the 70 showed the video about John Tanner. Please thank him for teaching our class about him. Tell him he helped my testimony grow.

3. We met Travis from the mailroom who served in Costa Rica. Everytime we see him there he writes down a ton of insider info, it's super helpful!!

4. I hosted new people! I have officially arrived! Elder Moore pretended to have a British accent the whole time, absolutely hilarious. Every newbie thought he was the bees knees. He told them he was from Nottingham like Robbin Hood. Thank heavens for comedic relief.

5. For any serious Arrested Development fans, and I hope there's at least one of you out there that will appreciate this (Travis Petty for sure) I met a Korean girl, who said, "Onyong!" to me ! "On-yong" Oh it made my day! And she had seen Arrested Development, thank heavens. But I love it!

6. Thank you for the cookies and creme kisses ma! I shared them with my district, who loves em! and adorable Elder Webb said, "Is this allowed?" I was confused..."Huh?" I asked. "You giving elders kisses..." hahah! He's so sweet! Super Christlike! ps I shared the Krispy Kremes with some newbies from New Zealand and now when they see me, they call me Krispy Kreme. Nickname! haha (I still like Trabajarles best.) By the way, Bray, I hosted a girl from New Zealand, and she's totally Maori. She laughed when I told her I have Maori blood. Then I showed her a pic of you. Then she believed me. I may have found your wife! haha jk

7. I love reading the BOM with my class! The spirit is always so strong and I always recieve personal revelation. It reminds me of home because we all take turns going around reading. And just like home, sometimes our mind drifts off. Then it's our turn and we're caught off guard. "uhh..where are we?" "verse 12" haha (Elder Parry)

8. Please thank the Rheese family one million times for me. The flowers are beautiful! The note was so heartfelt and wonderful. Sandra has a heart of gold! I know that she has experienced great loss as well, which allows her heart to be extreamly compassionate. What a blessing it is to have such a Christlike friend. Thank you!

9. The Lord has kept me busy this week and I know its a tender mercy to keep my mind busy as well. Part of my calling allowed me to meet with the new district coming in. We went over the expectations, rules, fun facts, etc. And we got a note on our door saying they were doing construction-apparently some big announcement was made for more sisters to come? haha jk so I've had to pack/unpack quickly. I know the Lord blesses us during times of trials. I know he loves me. What a blessing!

10. Dad I played bastketball for the first time in here with one of my comps and some elders in my district. I want to thank you for every night we spent practicing shots from every angel. Especially on the left. Elder Hyde seemed so shocked because he kept asking, "Do you aim for the backboard *every* time?" "yes...why?" "because you keep hitting these bank shots and threes!" Like he almost couldn't fathom it. He was impressed and I felt happy to know my dadd-eh taught me well.

11. King Leer "He dies." Please send me that quote from Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium. Read it for inspiration. I LOVED it! By the way, did ya'll get my eulogy?

Diane here... I thought I would add the quote as it's one of my favorites from all movies about death. If you didn't know, my father passed away last Wednesday night. November 14, 2012 We were able to call the MTC and Megan got to email us back later that day. It was absolutely beautifully said. I'll post that at the end of this posting.

In Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, Mr. Magorium's time to die has come. Despite the objections raised by Molly Mahoney, his friend, compatriot, and employee, Mr. Magorium calmly explains that his story is drawing to an end, and he uses the stage direction Shakespeare uses at the end of King Lear's life to contemplate and to explain his own departure:

Mr. Edward Magorium: [to Molly, about dying] When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? He's written "He dies." That's all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is "He dies." It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with "He dies." And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "He dies." but because of the life we saw prior to the words.
[pause, walks over to Molly]
Mr. Edward Magorium: I've lived all five of my acts, Mahoney, and I am not asking you to be happy that I must go. I'm only asking that you turn the page, continue reading... and let the next story begin. And if anyone asks what became of me, you relate my life in all its wonder, and end it with a simple and modest "He died."
Molly Mahoney: [starting to sob] I love you.
Mr. Edward Magorium: I love you, too.
[picks Molly up, sighs heavily]
Mr. Edward Magorium: Your life is an occasion. Rise to it.

12. Why I love Elder Parry: He reminds me of my brothers. A lot of Brayden. He sits by the ac control button. I sit right under the ac. We argue back and forth about "it's freezing!" "it's too hot!" and i was getting annoyed. Then I smiled because thats something my brother and I would do. It's all in good fun, we're just being silly. Point of the story: I love my brothers. and I love the elders in my district! they are my family!

13. I was told this week that I remind someone of Hermione Granger. Compliment?

14. Ash and I sign when we sit too far away and I think every missionary here has noticed. It's funny. Some girl learning sign stopped me and said, "that thing you do with your hands is amazing!" It is. What a blessing!

15."Senior citizens, although senile and dangerous behind the wheel can serve a purpose! ....I GOT ROBBED BY A LITTLE OLD LADY IN A WHEEL CHAIR!...OUR PETS HEADS ARE FALLIN' OFF!" haha Just some things I quote with the elders that remind me of home. I love you brothers!

16. Direct object and Indirect object pronouns will be the death of me! learning spanish reminds of of ASL-it was super hard at first, but eventually, I got better. anywho-I laughted/cried in class yesterday. My teacher was like, "You know this!" but I didn't! I threw out 3 different words/versions of a word and nothing! It was so frustrating. My companion, Hermana Ogltree, was so nice she kept telling me I could do it. And I know I can thats why I laughed but cried at the same time. It was an insane mix between laughter and that type of cryin where you just gotta throw your hands up in the air and beg for your Heavenly Father's grace. I am so greateful to be learning Spanish! Such a blessing!

17. HAPPY THANKSGIVIN! Comin' up! My day here should be awesome! Service and hopefully a General Authority!!! Plus I'm surrounded by my best friends. Don't even worry about me. But I will miss each of you sincerely!

I'm almost out of time. :( DANGIT! haha Not enough time!

I love you all so much! I haven't heard from anybody in a while, what's up? Remind all my friends my time here is almost up and soon I wont be able to recieve letters as quuickly.

PS ma, I only have like 2 weeks left. aHHHHHHHHH!

Bray, I love you!
Ry, I love you!
Con, I love you!
Mommy: My deepest sympathies. I cannot imagine ever loosing my daddy. What a deep deep sorrow. What a comfort to know that because he lived so righteously, he's not with our father in heaven. I love you mommy!
Daddy: You are my hero. The man I love the mostest. Give mommy a hug for me. Hug my brothers, they need so many hugs!

I love you all!

-Meg!

11-15-12 (Extra email from Meg regarding her grandpa's death. Megan is the oldest grandchild.)

Hello beautiful family!

Thanks for calling the MTC. They've been great! Very comforting. My comps have been great about the whole thing. My District Leader and his companion have been great as well. The Elders can only give me hand hugs, but they really are great! I can feel the Lord right next to me today. My prayers have been answered, I'm definently comforted. This is why I'm here. I know that this is not the end, not even close. I know he lived such a good and happy life and he's right where he's needed. I know that his body if finally free from ailments. And because I know this, because I've recieved testimony of the Plan of Salvation, I know that I've got to share this message!!! Others need to know this peace too. They need to know they can live forever with their families. This is what this gospel is all about! I am so happy to be a part of it!!! I'm holding up well. The MTC is the most spiritual place on Earth. Would you believe me if I told you that I can feel my Heavenly Father so close to me comforting me each step of the way? And I love the Elders in my district, they've all been awesome. Quoting every episode of the Office I ask for to keep me laughing. They are phenominal. My comps are so nice too!

I worry about how all of you are doing. I worry about grandma. I worry about mom. I worry about my aunts and uncles. I worry about my cousins. I worry about my brothers. Are you all okay? Don't worry about me, I'm being well taken care of! Everyone here is so supportive! I love you! Mom, Grandpa is going to be with me every step of the way keeping me safe!!! How tender! I'm so so so so happy to know exactly where he is headed.

I did a stupid thing... I already sent my eulogy in the mail...the moment I heard, I got to work. It should be in the mail within 2 days. I can't wait for you to read it!!! I know he's already got Peter, James and John in stitches laughing. What a wonderful man. What a good example to me of a strong and worthy priesthood holder until the end. I love you momma! HUG MY BROTHERS FOR ME. BRAY, RY, CON, I love you!

I wish I could comfort you mom! Do you believe me when I say I'm okay?

I knew that going on my mission would mean that I wouldn't get to see my grandpa again. I recieved that quiet confirmation. In my room, in my brown/blue plaid backpack in my closet I think is the book where I asked grandpa all those questions. Please use some of that.

November 13, 2012

Hello, hello, hello!!!

Dad I love love love! The comic strip! You are such an awesome artist! I definitely am going to try and send you one. Oh how funny! Freaking Charlie!

Mom you reading your BOM in a week sounds absolutely wonderful! I am so so so so so so so happy for you!!! I can't even imagine how spiritually strong you are right now! I picture every word you read a layer of armor against all of the negativity.

Brothers guess what tune I've had stuck in my head all week. One of the Elders had to help me FINALLY figure it out! I think it's the Halo Reach Theme song??? Wouldn't ya know it. Of course! Of all the things to have subconsciously pop in my head. I think it's a sign. I miss each of you. I miss you Braydee. I miss you Ry. I miss you Conn!

Chad, happy Veteran’s Day yesterday. I hope you got all the free food that your diet allows :) Sweet score on the Breaking Dawn tickets! I hope it goes well!!! I keep you in my prayers Chad. Also, thank you for serving our country. You are a STUD!

Bray, I came across something in the Bible I never noticed before! Turn to pg. 856. Solomon's Song. I only read a few verses but they reminded me of your beautiful poems. How lucky your future spouse will be because she will be showered with beautiful words. Oh how I love you dear brother! Great job on getting the job at UPS! Your letter about your beard made me laugh! no more Serj Terkin for you! I didn't even know you had a moustache? Man that makes me laugh!) Anyway, you have a talent my brother! One I admire entirely!!!!!

Thanks for the care package! Elder Hyde and I both got a package of Krispy Kreme's on the same day!! I'm really banking on the fact that Costa Ricaians have a skinny diet. Otherwise I'll have to cry. ha-ha. The MTC food just beefs you up man! And all we do is sit in a class and eat. ha-ha I'm not complaining at all, I laugh as I write this. I LOVE IT HERE! Seriously, every single person on the earth needs to experience the magic of the MTC.

Smile! Smile. I'll write that word again so you know how important I feel it is. I feel really impressed to share with each of you reading this to smile. I saw a picture of Jesus Christ smiling the other day. An awesome day. Do you think he had rough days? You'd better believe it. What did he do? He smiled! Read...Dang where is it? 3Nephi...shoot. I'll physically write a letter about how wonderful a smile is. Smile!

My patriarchal blessing is one of the most prized gift from my Heavenly Father ever! I also love reading about my mission service in my blessing. So so sososososososos comforting! . Ry, I wish I could hear you read yours to me. Con, I hope you can feel my excitement for you as well.

Elder Parry. Oh how I really like him! He has the entire Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone movie memorized!!! All of it! He has been quoting it for us and we just gather around, when we have spare moments (usually before a devo or something, don't worry we don't slack off too badly.) and listen like children around a campfire. When he forgets a part, we all help him. He does all the accents and motions, it is fantastic! Trust me, I miss movies. So to have a piece of it makes me happy.

Ever heard of “Knifing or Forking”? Ha! The Elders got warned about it and I thought it was funny enough to write.  Apparently they think it’s hilarious to sneak a knife, fork or spoon from the cafeteria and try to slip them into someone else’s pockets. Does it even make sense? Don’t worry if not.. moral of the story? The Elders always know how to have such a fun time. Right now my Elders are making a  "Temple Collage". They gather as many photos of temples as they can from around the MTC. (I'll have to send a photo next week, remind me.) I think what they like the most is going on raids, two by two. It's so funny they sneak all over the building trying to sneak out temple photos. The rest of the elders decorate the collage and try to make everything line up just so. Whoda thunk Elders could be so creative! Anywho, it has turned into something truly wonderful!! It's so awesome! You walk in the room and are taken back by the power of it. *imagine an entire wall full of nothing but temples!* :) They take me away! Temples rock.

We had a meeting about influential women in our lives and there wasn’t a dry eye. I said I was thankful for Mary Magdeline because she heard the Saviors voice and knew him. And my mommy and grandmas… of course. I’m so grateful for all the sacrifices that every great woman in my life has made so I can be where I am today.

The Spanish is coming along! I am able to learn quickly and with the help of Elder Hyde, a genius, I'm grasping the grammar!! yay! Such a comfort! They only problem is remembering it all. Don't get me wrong, I still feel like I know nothing, but it is improving.

Thanks for the prayers. I REALLY can feel them! I'm really getting along with my companions! We laugh all the time together! And I feel the prayers y’all say on my behalf like a comforting hug. Thank you family!

I wish to share with you my testimony of this great and marvelous gospel.
First of all, like the prophet Lehi, I have tasted of its goodness and it is so delicious! I too desire for every person I know to taste the fruit! I love the Book of Mormon. I really love it! I am learning so much! I have a testimony of revelation-modern day revelation. I know that when I read the Book of Mormon, I can hear my Heavenly Father whispering to me gentle impressions in my mind. I have a testimony of prayer. I know it is a two-way communication with my maker. He hears me. He desires to know how I am. He will grant me anything, as long as I ask. I cry every time I re-hear President Monson's announcement about the age change for missionaries? Why?! Because. I am hearing modern day revelation as if I'm hearing it from the Lord himself. I remember the strong spirit I felt in the MTC when that announcement was made. I have a testimony of the blessing of missionary work. I hope you all realize what is really going on; the Lord is hastening His work. And as I've been told (in the MTC) by Elder Bednar, an apostle, the Lord will hasten my understanding. What a blessing! I love this gospel more than words can adequately express.

I love each of you so much! Thank you for your example in my life. Be strong and of good courage. Keep the faith. The blessings WILL come!!! I know it!

Don't forget the Lord loves each of you uniquely! I love you!

Nos Vamos!
